New Tang Dynasty (NTD) Television – a non-profit Chinese and multi-language TV network headquartered in New York City. NTD broadcasts to over 200 million potential viewers via satellite, cable and the Internet.

The Emperor’s Banquet Benefit Gala, preceded by a unique two day Chinese Culinary Competition in Times Square presented by New Tang Dynasty Television. This banquet celebrates a decade of championing press freedom and the promotion and sharing of traditional Chinese culture. Transforming Times Square into the kitchen arena of ancient China, the competition is designed to showcase the skills and artistry of over 50 Master Chefs from around the world. Celebrities and renowned chefs will participate in the closing “Lightning Wok Challenge.” The winners of the International Chinese Culinary Competition will then prepare a sumptuous 10 course feast in celebration of NTD’s tenth anniversary.

The historic Grand Central Oyster Bar, celebrating its 97th birthday, will team with sports and broadcast celebrities for a fundraiser during Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Giants Super Bowl XXI MVP and CBS Sports lead NFL analyst Phil Simms, and his broadcast partner Jim Nantz will be joined by YES Network Yankees voice/1050 ESPN Radio host Michael Kay, New York Giants star wide receiver Steve Smith, and Q104.3 Radio’s Shelli Sonstein as the headliners at the third annual Remember When, Remember Now benefit for Alzheimer’s Research to be held on Tuesday night, November 16, at the iconic New York City seafood restaurant.

The benefit will include cocktail hour beginning at 6:30 PM with a bountiful seafood bar and hors d’eovres. Dinner and awards ceremony will follow at 7:30 PM highlighted by a sumptuous seafood and steak extravaganza.

Simms will receive the Jim Nantz, Sr. Tribute Award which remembers Nantz’s father whose Alzheimer’s affliction is well-documented in the book Always By My Side.  "It’s such an honor to present this award to Phil,” says Nantz. “First, he’s a great friend and family man, two things my father always treasured. Secondly, he has seen the devastating effects that Alzheimer’s has had on former players and teammates. He realizes it’s time we all take a stand against this terrible disease."

The celebration of the historic Oyster Bar’s 97th birthday will again serve as the backdrop to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research.  Michael’s “Kay’s Korner” will be the designated charity, and the net proceeds from the money raised at the gala will be dispersed to a variety of Alzheimer’s groups. Oyster Bar executive chef Sandy Ingber will serve as Committee Co-Chair with Nantz and Kay joined by Jim Houlihan, partner, Houlihan Parnes, LLC; long time New York public relations executive John Cirillo, president, Cirillo World; and veteran sports broadcast agent Steve Lefkowitz, CEO, Lefkowitz Entertainment. All of the chairmen and most of the honorees have had a family member afflicted with Alzheimer’s.

Joining Simms among the honorees are: Smith, the Giants standout receiver whose grandmother Lois Anne Smith died of Alzheimer’s disease; Sonstein, the Q104 news director Sonstein, Dr. Lawrence Honig of Columbia University, and Samuel Lefkowitz.

Simms was the Giants quarterback to guide Big Blue to the Lombardi Trophy as Super Bowl champions in 1987. The 15-year NFL veteran joined CBS Sports in January 1998 as lead analyst for the CBS Television Network’s coverage of the NFL. This season, he and Nantz pair for their sixth season as the Network’s lead NFL announce team.

NAPLES WINTER WINE FESTIVAL STOKES AUCTION FEVER WITH PRICELESS AND UNIQUE LOTS
-All Auction Proceeds Benefit Children’s Charities-

The Naples Winter Wine Festival, ranked as one of the top arts and entertainment events for wealthy Americans by the Luxury Institute, unveiled a sampling of the priceless and unique lots up for bid at the Feb. 6-8 auction gala in Naples. The offerings are a mix of once-in-a-lifetime experiences and one-of-a-kind treasures, with all proceeds benefiting underprivileged and at-risk children through the Naples Children & Education Foundation (NCEF), the festival’s founding organization.

The majority of the 65 lots feature rare wine, mostly large format, bringing together an unrivaled assortment of hard-to-find vintages including various lots that feature a 27-liter bottle from Revana Family Vineyards; five Magnums of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti; a never-before released Salmanazar, which holds a complete case of wine, from Colgin Cellars; and a single lot consisting of a hand-signed Magnum from each of the festival’s 28 participating vintners.

The Naples Winter Wine Festival is ranked by the Luxury Institute as a top 10 arts and entertainment event for wealthy Americans, and since 2004, Wine Spectator magazine lists it as the nation’s top charity wine auction. The festival was founded by and is hosted annually in Naples, Fla., by trustees of the Naples Children & Education Foundation. Their vision was to create an exquisite event that would raise funds for area charities that assist underprivileged and at-risk children. Since the first festival in 2001, $69.5 million has been raised toward making a profound and sustainable difference for children in need.
